A total of 800 Chicagoans attended the 9th Annual For The Love Of Chocolate Gala on Saturday February 22nd. The event brought back the roaring twenties in the 130-year-old Union League Club of Chicago. In the name of raising scholarships for students of The French Pastry School of Kennedy-King College at City Colleges of Chicago.
A four-course dinner presented by Chef Michael Garbin of the Union League Club in which he featured an inspiring menu from the decadence of the jazz age. After the dinner, the place transformed into a night of sampling sweets, savories and swinging tunes till midnight.
With the support of attendees, participants, volunteers and sponsors for The Love of Chocolate, they raised over $180,000 which will fund student scholarships for The French Pastry School programs.
Our own John Cora from Cora Italian Specialties was invited to this remarkable night because he supplied the Danesi Espresso Gold Bean that was featured during the gala. We are truly honored to have one our signature Italian espresso’s consumed by many great palates that night.
John stated “it was so nice and everyone was dressed up, it really made me happy to be there. Plus the pastries and dinner were magnificent”.
